This academic program, the first of its kind globally, is tailored to diving professionals, aiming to elevate standards in the diving industry. The curriculum focuses on diving safety, medical research, and the sustainable management of both economic and environmental aspects of diving operations.

On December 4th, approximately 300 students from the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) gathered at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, Malta, to celebrate their academic achievements. The diverse group of graduates, ranging from Foundation to Master’s Degree level, included the cohort of the Bachelor of Science in Diving Safety Management. The ceremony, a culmination of dedication and hard work, was attended by the Minister for Tourism, academic and administrative staff, graduates, and their proud guests. Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Tickle shared the challenges faced during his studies, emphasizing the value of perseverance and adaptation. He encouraged students to approach the uncertainties of their futures with resilience and openness to change.

“Thanks to all those involved – organisers, partners, faculty, stakeholders,” declared Prof. Alessandro Marroni. “I started this journey six years ago with many hopes but also many uncertainties. It is particularly gratifying to witness how the science of diving safety has now gained academic dignity. Congratulations to the students, Audrey, Paul, Ray, and Tiit. Their dedication, passion, and commitment will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the future of diving safety.”

A unique programme

The BSc in Diving Safety Management is an academic program promoted by the International School of Diving Safety and Medicine (ISDSM), a joint effort of DAN Europe and ITS, in collaboration with Divers Alert Network, DAN Southern Africa, PADI and PDSA (Professional Diving Schools Association Malta), and under the supervision of the Malta Ministry for Tourism, Ministry for Education, and Ministry for Gozo. The Faculty includes the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine, the European College of Baromedicine, Università Politecnica delle Marche, University of Stellenbosch, and Northwest University. The programme was designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of diving safety, management, and scientific diving. Lectures are held at the beautiful ITS campus in Qala, Gozo, providing students with the unique advantage of enjoying fantastic diving opportunities at spectacular dive sites. The Maltese archipelago, with its dozens of highly organized dive centers and a vibrant diving community, offers a stimulating international working environment.

Tento druh akademického studia, první svého druhu na světě, je přizpůsoben potápěčským profesionálům s cílem zvýšit standardy v oblasti potápění. Učební plán se zaměřuje na bezpečnost potápění, lékařský výzkum a udržitelné řízení ekonomických i ekologických aspektů potápěčských operací.

Čtvrtého prosince 2023 se shromáždilo přibližně 300 studentů z Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) ve Středomořském konferenčním centru ve Vallettě na Maltě, aby oslavili své akademické úspěchy. Různorodá skupina absolventů, od základního až po magisterské studium, tvořila soubor jedinců studujících s cílem získat bakalářský titul pro řízení bezpečnosti při potápění. Slavnostního aktu, kterým vyvrcholila jejich obětavá a tvrdá práce, se zúčastnil ministr cestovního ruchu, akademičtí a administrativní pracovníci, samotní absolventi a jejich hosté. Vážení hosté, včetně Alessandra Marroniho (výkonného ředitele DAN Europe), Pierra Fenecha (výkonného ředitele ITS) a Claytona Bartola (maltského ministra pro cestovní ruch), přednesli inspirativní projevy a zdůraznili klíčovou roli absolventů při utváření budoucnosti potápěčského průmyslu.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=””][vc_column el_class=”page-text”][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]Děkovný promoční projev pronesl absolvent Tickle, absolvent bakalářského studia v oboru Management bezpečnosti potápění s více než třicetiletou praxí v oboru. Při zamyšlení nad svou cestou se pan Tickle podělil o problémy, kterým čelil během studia, a také zdůraznil důležitost vytrvalosti a přizpůsobení se daným podmínkám. Vyzval studenty, aby přistupovali k nejistotám své budoucnosti s odvahou a otevřeností vůči změnám.

Ve svém projevu prohlásil profesor Alessandro Marroni mimo jiné: „Děkuji všem zúčastněným – organizátorům, partnerům, fakultě a všem zainteresovaným stranám. Začal jsem tuto cestu před šesti lety s mnoha nadějemi, ale také s mnoha nejistotami. Je velmi potěšující být svědkem toho, jak věda o bezpečnosti potápění nyní získala akademickou důstojnost. Zvláštní gratulaci si zaslouží studenti Audrey, Paul, Ray a Tiit. Jejich obětavost, zaujetí pro věc a nasazení nepochybně významně ovlivní budoucnost bezpečnosti potápění.“

Unikátní program

BSc. v oboru řízení bezpečnosti při potápění je akademický program podporovaný Mezinárodní školou pro bezpečnost při potápění a potápěčskou medicínu (International School of Diving Safety and Medicine – ISDSM), dále pak je výsledkem společného úsilí DAN Europe a ITS, a také spolupráce s Divers Alert Network, DAN Jižní Afrika, PADI a Maltskou asociací profesionálních škol potápění (Professional Diving Schools Association Malta – PDSA), to vše pod dohledem maltského ministerstva pro cestovní ruch, ministerstva školství a ministerstva pro ostrov Gozo. Součástí fakulty je Evropský výbor pro hyperbarickou medicínu, European College of Baromedicine, Università Politecnica delle Marche, University of Stellenbosch a Northwest University. Program byl sestaven tak, aby vybavil studenty komplexním pochopením a porozuměním bezpečnosti, managementu a vědeckého potápění. Přednášky se konají v krásném kampusu ITS v Qala na ostrově Gozo, což studentům poskytuje jedinečnou výhodu užívat si fantastických příležitostí k potápění na velkolepých potápěčských lokalitách. Maltské souostroví s desítkami vysoce organizovaných potápěčských středisek a velice aktivní potápěčskou komunitou nabízí stimulující mezinárodní pracovní prostředí.

Dit academische programma, wereldwijd het eerste in zijn soort, is op maat gemaakt voor duikprofessionals en heeft als doel de standaarden in de duikindustrie te verhogen. Het curriculum richt zich op duikveiligheid, medisch onderzoek en duurzaam beheer van zowel economische als milieuaspecten van duikoperaties.

Op 4 december kwamen ongeveer 300 studenten van het Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) bijeen in het Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta, Malta, om hun academische prestaties te vieren. De diverse groep afgestudeerden, variërend van basis- tot masterniveau, bestond onder andere uit de cohort van de Bachelor of Science in Diving Safety Management. Alessandro Marroni: “Dank aan alle betrokkenen – organisatoren, partners, docenten, belanghebbenden. “Ik begon deze reis zes jaar geleden met veel hoop, maar ook met veel onzekerheden. Het is bijzonder bevredigend om te zien hoe de wetenschap van duikveiligheid nu academische waardigheid heeft verworven. Mijn felicitaties gaan uit naar de studenten Audrey, Paul, Ray en Tiit. Hun toewijding, passie en inzet zullen ongetwijfeld een grote impact hebben op de toekomst van duikveiligheid.”

Een uniek programma

De BSc in Diving Safety Management is een academisch programma dat wordt gepromoot door de International School of Diving Safety and Medicine (ISDSM), een gezamenlijke inspanning van DAN Europe en ITS, in samenwerking met Divers Alert Network, DAN Southern Africa, PADI en PDSA (Professional Diving Schools Association Malta), en onder toezicht van het Maltese Ministerie van Toerisme, het Ministerie van Onderwijs en het Ministerie van Gozo. Tämä koulutusohjelma käynnistyi virallisesti kolme vuotta sitten, ja nyt on voitu ylpeänä esitellä ensimmäiset tästä uraauurtavasta koulutusohjelmasta valmistuneet. Tämä akateeminen koulutusohjelma, joka on ensimmäinen laatuaan koko maailmassa, on tarkoitettu sukellusalan ammattilaisille. Tavoitteena on sen avulla nostaa sukellusalan tasoa. Opetussuunnitelmassa keskitytään sukellusturvallisuuteen, lääketieteelliseen tutkimukseen ja kestävään sukellustoimintaan, jossa otetaan huomioon sekä taloudelliset että ympäristönäkökohdat.

Joulukuun 4. päivänä noin 300 opiskelijaa Institute of Tourism Studies -instituutista (ITS) kokoontui Valletassa Maltalla sijaitsevaan Mediterranean Conference Center -keskukseen juhlimaan akateemisia saavutuksiaan. Tutkinnon suorittaneiden joukko oli moninainen. Heissä oli eri koulutusasteen suorittaneita perustasosta aina maisteritasoon asti. Tähän ryhmään sisältyi myös tutkimusaineistoksi valittu kyseisen tutkinnon suorittaneiden joukko. Juhlaseremoniaan, joka oli kovan ja antaumuksella tehdyn työn huipentuma, osallistuivat matkailuministeri, akateeminen ja hallintohenkilöstö, tutkinnon suorittaneet sekä heidän ylpeät vieraansa. Hänellä on alalta yli kolmenkymmenen vuoden kokemus. Hän jakoi ajatuksiaan opiskeluajasta ja kertoi opintojen aikana kohtaamistaan haasteista korostaen sinnikkyyden ja sopeutumisen merkitystä. Hän myös rohkaisi opiskelijoita suhtautumaan tulevaisuuden mukanaan tuomiin epävarmuustekijöihin joustavasti ja muutoksille avoimin mielin.

“Kiitos kaikille mukana olleille, niin järjestäjille, yhteistyökumppaneille, eri sidosryhmille kuin myös tiedekunnalle”, lausui professori Alessandro Marroni. “Kuusi vuotta sitten lähdin tälle matkalle hyvin toiveikkaana mutta myös epävarmana monen asian suhteen. Erityisen ilahduttavaa on olla mukana todistamassa sitä, kuinka sukellusturvallisuuteen liittyvät tiedot ja taidot ovat nyt saavuttaneet akateemisen tason. Erityisonnittelut opiskelijoille Audrey, Paul, Ray ja Tiit. He ovat olleet innokkaita ja sitoutuneita opiskelijoita. Tämä heidän omistautumisensa tulee epäilemättä vaikuttamaan merkittävällä tavalla sukellusturvallisuuteen tulevaisuudessa.”

Ainutlaatuinen koulutusohjelma

Sukellusturvallisuuteen keskittyvä luonnontieteiden kandidaatin tutkinto on koulutusohjelma, jonka järjestää Kansainvälinen sukellusturvallisuuden ja -lääketieteen koulu (International School of Diving Safety and Medicine, ISDSM). Kyseessä on DAN Europen ja ITS-instituutin yhteinen ponnistus. Mukana yhteistyökumppaneina ovat Divers Alert Network, DAN Southern Africa, PADI ja PDSA (Professional Diving Schools Association Malta). Toimintaa valvovat Maltan matkailuministeriö, optetusministeriö ja Gozon saaren ministeriö. Tiedekuntaan kuuluvat Euroopan ylipainelääketieteen komitea (Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine) sekä seuraavat oppilaitokset: European College of Baromedicine, Università Politecnica delle Marche, University of Stellenbosch ja Northwest University. Kun koulutusohjelmaa suunniteltiin, tavoitteena oli, että opiskelijat saavat laajat tiedot sukellusturvallisuuteen ja sukellusten toteuttamiseen sekä sukeltamisen tieteelliseen puoleen liittyen. Luennot pidetään kauniilla ITS-instituutin kampuksella Qalassa Gozon saarella. Siellä opiskelijoilla on ainutlaatuinen tilaisuus nauttia hienoista sukellusmahdollisuuksista upeissa sukelluskohteissa. Maltan saaristo tarjoaa innostavan kansainvälisen työskentely-ympäristön. Sieltä löytyy tusinoittain erittäin hyvin toimivia sukelluskeskuksia sekä elinvoimainen sukellusyhteisö.

Ce programme universitaire, le premier du genre au niveau mondial, est conçu pour les professionnels de la plongée et vise à élever les standards de qualité de la plongée loisir. Le programme d’études est axé sur la sécurité, la recherche médicale et la gestion durable des aspects économiques et environnementaux.

Le 4 décembre dernier, environ 300 étudiants de l’Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) de Malte se sont réunis au Mediterranean Conference Centre de La Valette pour célébrer leurs résultats académiques. Ce groupe diversifié de diplômés, allant du niveau Fondation au niveau Master, comprenait la cohorte du Bachelor of Science in Diving Safety Management (Licence en Gestion de la Sécurité de la Plongée). Le Ministre du Tourisme, le personnel académique et administratif, les diplômés et leurs invités ont assisté à la cérémonie. Tickle a fait part des défis auxquels il a été confronté au cours de ses études, soulignant la valeur de la persévérance et de l’adaptation. Il a encouragé les étudiants à aborder les incertitudes de leur avenir avec résilience et ouverture au changement.

“Merci à toutes les personnes impliquées – organisateurs, partenaires, professeurs, parties prenantes”, a déclaré le Prof. Marroni. “J’ai commencé ce voyage il y a six ans avec beaucoup d’espoirs mais aussi beaucoup d’incertitudes. Il est particulièrement gratifiant de constater que la science de la sécurité en plongée a désormais acquis une dignité académique. Félicitations aux étudiants, Audrey, Paul, Ray et Tiit. Leur dévouement, leur passion et leur engagement auront sans aucun doute un impact significatif sur l’avenir de la sécurité en plongée”.

Un programme unique

La Licence en Gestion de la Sécurité de la Plongée est un programme académique promu par l’École internationale de médecine et sécurité de la plongée (ISDSM), un effort conjoint de DAN Europe et ITS, en collaboration avec Divers Alert Network, DAN Afrique du Sud, PADI et PDSA (Association des écoles de plongée professionnelles de Malte), et sous la supervision du Ministère du Tourisme et Ministère de l’Education de Malte, et du Ministère de Gozo. La Faculté comprend le Comité européen de Médecine Hyperbare, le Collège Européen de Baromédecine, l’Università Politecnica delle Marche (Italie), l’Université de Stellenbosch (Afrique du Sud) et l’Université Northwest (États-Unis). Le programme a été conçu pour permettre aux étudiants d’acquérir une connaissance approfondie de la sécurité, de la gestion et de la recherche scientifique en plongée. Les cours ont lieu dans le campus ITS à Qala, Gozo, ce qui offre aux étudiants l’avantage unique de profiter de fantastiques sites de plongée. L’archipel maltais, avec ses dizaines de centres de plongée bien organisés et une communauté de plongeurs dynamique, offre un environnement de travail international stimulant.

The diverse group of graduates, ranging from Foundation to Master’s Degree level, included the cohort of the Bachelor of Science in Diving Safety Management. The ceremony, a culmination of dedication and hard work, was attended by the Minister for Tourism, academic and administrative staff, graduates, and their proud guests. A unique programme

The BSc in Diving Safety Management is an academic program promoted by the International School of Diving Safety and Medicine (ISDSM), a joint effort of DAN Europe and ITS, in collaboration with Divers Alert Network, DAN Southern Africa, PADI and PDSA (Professional Diving Schools Association Malta), and under the supervision of the Malta Ministry for Tourism, Ministry for Education, and Ministry for Gozo. The Faculty includes the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine, the European College of Baromedicine, Università Politecnica delle Marche, University of Stellenbosch, and Northwest University. The programme was designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of diving safety, management, and scientific diving. Lectures are held at the beautiful ITS campus in Qala, Gozo, providing students with the unique advantage of enjoying fantastic diving opportunities at spectacular dive sites. The Maltese archipelago, with its dozens of highly organized dive centers and a vibrant diving community, offers a stimulating international working environment.

Questo nuovo programma accademico, il primo del suo genere a livello globale, è stato creato per i professionisti della subacquea, con l’obiettivo di elevare gli standard di qualità. Il programma di studi è incentrato su sicurezza, ricerca medica e sostenibilità delle attività subacquee, sia dal punto di vista economico che ambientale.

Il 4 dicembre scorso, circa trecento studenti dell’Istituto di Studi Turistici (ITS) di Malta si sono riuniti al Mediterranean Conference Centre de La Valletta per celebrare la consegna dei diplomi di laurea. Il gruppo eterogeneo di laureati, dal livello Foundation al livello Master, comprendeva quattro studenti della triennale in Gestione della Sicurezza Subacquea (Bachelor of Science in Diving Safety Management). Alla cerimonia hanno partecipato il Ministro del Turismo di Malta, il personale accademico e amministrativo, ed i laureati con i loro amici e familiari. “Grazie a tutti coloro che hanno avuto una parte in questo successo – organizzatori, partner, docenti, stakeholder”, ha dichiarato il Prof. Marroni. “Ho iniziato questo percorso sei anni fa con molte speranze, ma anche diverse incertezze. È particolarmente gratificante vedere come la scienza della sicurezza subacquea abbia ora acquisito dignità accademica. Complimenti agli studenti Audrey, Paul, Ray e Tiit. La loro dedizione, passione e impegno avranno senza dubbio un impatto significativo sul futuro della sicurezza subacquea”.

Ten pierwszy tego rodzaju program akademicki na świecie został stworzony dla profesjonalistów nurkowych, aby podnieść poziom standardów w branży nurkowej. Program nauczania skupia się na bezpieczeństwie nurkowania, badaniach naukowych i zrównoważonym zarządzaniu zarówno ekonomicznymi, jak i środowiskowymi aspektami centrum nurkowego.

4 grudnia około 300 studentów z Instytutu Studiów Turystycznych (Institute of Toursim Studies – ITS) spotkało się w centrum konferencyjnym Mediterranean Conference Centre w mieście Valletta na Malcie, aby świętować swój akademicki sukces. Grupa absolwentów studiów licencjackich Zarządzanie Bezpieczeństwem Nurkowania była bardzo zróżnicowana – znalazły się w niej osoby, które ukończyły wcześniej edukację na poziomie od Foundation (poniżej licencjata) do Magistra. W uroczystości, na której świętowano zaangażowanie i ciężką pracę studentów wziął udział Minister Turystyki, pracownicy akademiccy i administracyjni, absolwenci i wspaniali goście. Niektórzy z nich, w tym Alessandro Marroni (dyrektor generalny DAN Europe), Pierre Fenech (dyrektor generalny ITS) i Clayton Bartolo (Minister Turystyki na Malcie) wygłosili inspirujące przemowy podkreślając kluczową rolę absolwentów w tworzeniu przyszłości branży nurkowej.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=””][vc_column el_class=”page-text”][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]Przemowę na zakończenie tego roku akademickiego wygłosił pan Tickle, absolwent studiów licencjackich na wydziale Zarządzanie Bezpieczeństwem Nurkowania z ponad 30-letnim doświadczeniem w branży. Pan Tickle omówił wyzwania, jakim stawił czoła podczas studiów i podkreślił rolę wytrwałości i adaptacji. Zachęcił studentów do tego, aby podchodząc do swojej niepewnej przyszłości wykazywali się odpornością i otwartością na zmiany.

„Dziękuję wszystkim osobom zaangażowanym w te studia: organizatorom, partnerom, pracownikom wydziału i udziałowcom” – powiedział prof. Alessandro Marroni. „Rozpocząłem tę przygodę 6 lat temu z wielkimi nadziejami, ale również z wieloma niewiadomymi. Cieszę się szczególnie z tego, że nauka związana z bezpieczeństwem nurkowania otrzymała obecnie godność akademicką. Gratuluję wszystkim studentom, Audrey, Paulowi, Ray’owi i Tiit. Ich zaangażowanie, pasja i poświęcenie na pewno będą miały znaczący wpływ na przyszłość branży nurkowej”.

Studia licencjackie w zakresie Zarządzanie Bezpieczeństwem Nurkowania to program akademicki promowany przez International School of Diving Safety and Medicine (ISDSM), który powstał dzięki wspólnym wysiłkom DAN Europe i ITS we współpracy z Divers Alert Network, DAN Southern Africa, PADI oraz PDSA (Professional Diving Schools Association Malta) pod nadzorem Ministerstwa Turystyki Malty, Ministerstwa Edukacji i Ministerstwa Gozo. Program jest prowadzony przez kadrę z European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine, the European College of Baromedicine, Università Politecnica delle Marche, University of Stellenbosch oraz Northwest University. El plan de estudios se centra en la seguridad en el buceo, la investigación médica y la gestión sostenible de los aspectos económicos y medioambientales de las operaciones de buceo.

El 4 de diciembre, unos 300 estudiantes del Instituto de Estudios Turísticos (ITS) se reunieron en el Centro Mediterráneo de Conferencias de La Valeta (Malta) para celebrar sus logros académicos. Entre el variado grupo de graduados, que abarcaba desde el nivel de Foundation hasta el de Master, se encontraba la cohorte del Bachelor of Science in Diving Safety Management. A la ceremonia, culminación de la dedicación y el duro trabajo, asistieron el Ministro de Turismo, el personal académico y administrativo, los graduados y sus orgullosos invitados. Distinguidos invitados, entre los que se encontraban Alessandro Marroni (Director General de DAN Europe), Pierre Fenech (Director General de ITS) y Clayton Bartolo (Ministro de Turismo de Malta), pronunciaron inspiradores discursos en los que destacaron el papel fundamental de los graduados en la configuración del futuro de la industria del buceo.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=””][vc_column el_class=”page-text”][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text]El discurso de graduación de este año corrió a cargo del Sr. Tickle, licenciado en Gestión de la Seguridad en el Buceo, con más de treinta años de experiencia en el sector. Reflexionando sobre su trayectoria, el Sr. Tickle compartió los retos a los que se enfrentó durante sus estudios, haciendo hincapié en el valor de la perseverancia y la adaptación. Animó a los estudiantes a afrontar las incertidumbres de su futuro con resiliencia y apertura al cambio.

“Gracias a todos los implicados: organizadores, socios, profesores, partes interesadas”, declaró el profesor Alessandro Marroni. “Empecé este viaje hace seis años con muchas esperanzas, pero también con muchas incertidumbres. Es especialmente gratificante ver cómo la ciencia de la seguridad en el buceo ha ganado ahora dignidad académica. Enhorabuena a los estudiantes, Audrey, Paul, Ray y Tiit. Su dedicación, pasión y compromiso tendrán sin duda un impacto significativo en el futuro de la seguridad en el buceo”.

Un programa único

El BSc in Diving Safety Management es un programa académico promovido por la International School of Diving Safety and Medicine (ISDSM), un esfuerzo conjunto de DAN Europe e ITS, en colaboración con Divers Alert Network, DAN Southern Africa, PADI y PDSA (Professional Diving Schools Association Malta), y bajo la supervisión del Ministerio de Turismo, el Ministerio de Educación y el Ministerio de Gozo de Malta. El claustro de profesores incluye el Comité Europeo de Medicina Hiperbárica, el Colegio Europeo de Baromedicina, la Università Politecnica delle Marche, la Universidad de Stellenbosch y la Northwest University. El programa se diseñó para dotar a los estudiantes de un conocimiento exhaustivo de la seguridad, la gestión y el buceo científico. Las clases se imparten en el hermoso campus de ITS en Qala (Gozo), lo que ofrece a los estudiantes la ventaja única de disfrutar de fantásticas oportunidades de buceo en lugares espectaculares. El archipiélago maltés, con sus docenas de centros de buceo altamente organizados y una vibrante comunidad de buceadores, ofrece un estimulante entorno de trabajo internacional.
